Update Jan 21/22: Great weekend, open Monday!

It’s been a wonderful opening weekend, with the return of many friendly faces, fantastic conditions, and great times overheard on the trails.

Due to the late start to the season and sublime conditions, we decided to open tomorrow (Jan 22nd) as well. While Mondays are typically reserved for our season pass holders, we want to invite everyone to come enjoy another day of winter with us and keep the great weekend going. It looks like conditions will stay below freezing; topping out around 29 by late afternoon. We will be open for rentals and trail passes, as well as having the lodge open for warming up by the fire. There is a chance we will also offer basic snacks and drinks (chips, hot cocoa, coffee, limited beer, etc.), but this is TBD as of Sunday afternoon.

We are cautiously optimistic about the week ahead. The grooming crew has been working all weekend to pack the base, which should help protect it against the warmup. Due to our elevation, it also stays between 3-5 degrees colder here than in the city of Erie. Current conditions and a location-based forecast that reflects our microclimate can be found here: https://tempestwx.com/station/91168/.

Thanks to everyone who chose to come out and ski with us this opening weekend. We look forward to the next ski weekend soon!
