Awesome, Fantastic, Excellent…all recent comments about the ski conditions. We are committed to providing the best skiing experience possible.
This year, the Lodge has had wonderful snows, coming an inch, three inches and sometimes more each time. Snow-three/four times a week. This consistency plays a large role in our end product.
We have great equipment and lots of it, three sleds, three rollers and three Ginzugroomers from Yellowstone Track Systems, plus other devices.
But the biggest impact rests on the shoulders of two guys, our groomers- Nick and Lew. And yes, you will see three sleds out on big days, or a solitary sled out early morning…that’s me…but the real credit goes to them.
Their years of experience in all types of snow and weather, rolling the deep stuff, grooming the packed snow, setting wide skate lanes and the best tracks anywhere is seen everywhere on our network.
‘This year we made a commitment to get it all done and some weeks that means starting over three times. These are the guys who do it.
So if you show up early one morning after the night left inches of snow, know that the trails closest to the Lodge come first. After they are in decent shape, we will gradually move across the road going deeper and deeper into the trails. This is a process over many miles of trails and multiple passes, which takes time and energy.
so…Relax, enjoy the beauty of the woods, listen to the wind in the trees, thank the groomers.
Friday..Late yesterday, it snowed a couple inches followed by showers which froze on the very top. It’s now granular not crusty. The groomer are out working. This new layer is now being blended into the lower surface and will make an outstanding addition to our network.
So we go back to our model of Lodge side first, then across the road, etc.
Going to be great!
