Pennsylvania Cross Country Skiing & Nordic Center
Thanks to everyone who came to Wilderness Lodge this weekend and enjoyed the beauty of the snow hanging in the trees, the well groomed set track and wide skate lanes plus the opportunity to enjoy being in the Lodge. We met a number of new visitors from Pittsburgh, Cleveland, Buffalo and as far as Morgantown
Rentals and trails will be open starting at 10am. The lodge will not be open, so be sure to bring a brown bag for lunch.
We managed to hold on to the snow from earlier this week, which is now being added to by a winter storm that should dump 6+ inches throughout Friday afternoon and evening. We’ll be open for skiing this weekend! Things also look good for the following week. Please stay off the trails until Saturday morning
Due to hazardous weather conditions, the lights will not be lit and there will be no night skiing this evening.
We have installed solar lights from the Lodge to around Practice Field. This will be available Thursday, Friday, and Saturday nights till 9 PM. The trails are open! Come Ski!!
We are back to warmer temperatures and a wintery mix. With snow and colder temperatures in the forecast for later this week, we are hopeful for next weekend. For now, we are asking that everyone stay off the trails so we can maintain the integrity of the base we currently have. Thanks to everyone who
It’s been a long wait, but winter is finally here! We have miles of trails packed and ready to ski and we’ll continue breaking more trail Saturday. Come ski!
The fields have been roiled, packed and are in good shape. Sections of the woods remain wet, so our current status is to explore the network and find the most viable woods trails. It remains below freezing and we are currently getting light snowfall, which is to increase overnight and into tomorrow. We expect to
We are starting to see glimpses of winter this week. Heavy, wet snow is coating the fields, but the woods are still bare and the ground hasn’t set up yet. With several days of snow and colder temperatures in the forecast this week, we are hopeful we have better news to share next weekend.
While we’re finally starting to get some snow, we are still waiting to open. As of this morning, it’s just a dusting and we still have running water throughout the trail network. We will post again if conditions allow us to open for the weekend.
