Looking Good.

We had to shovel the snow in front of the Wilderness woods fireplace and it was consistently a foot and a half deep everywhere. This is not a drift, rather it is in a secluded valley over the hill from the lodge.

It was an interesting day at the lodge. One of our skiers from Columbus completed a 50 k. Classic on our trails. Not sure but he probably holds our 50 k. unofficial self timed record. A family who have skied here since the 90′s are moving to Iowa. We will miss them. I checked and there are areas in Iowa with cross country skiing…. Probably not as good as here but hey, we also have a trail that goes between corn stubble. Good luck and stop back some day.

The hot dogs were a hit. Have you ever noticed how much better hots dogs taste when cooked over a open fire in the winter when it”s 19 degrees? As long as we were eating to keep warm, it made perfect sense to have a couple of extra double stuff Oreos. We were bad with good company.

Today was a terrific day to ski and tomorrow looks equally good.

There are miles of track set and the skate lanes were dusted off between 5 and 6 tonight. Right now it is lightly snowing.

Come ski.
